Sniff…sad news to share
It is with great sadness that we need to report the end of our dear little egg in the playground nest. It appears that a blue jay got to the egg some time last week. The egg had a hole in it early Wednesday morning, and by afternoon a blue jay was seen carrying off the remainders of the shell. 
We will miss our little egg!
For the next few entries we will turn our attention to the chicken and duck eggs and chicks that are being hatched in our 3 kindergarten classrooms.

Dear students,
It was sad to read about the duck egg being gobbled up by another bird, and interesting to read your ideas for Mrs. Daisy Mallard and how to build a better nest.
I wonder if any of your eggs have hatched yet? Do you have any new chicks or ducks to write about?
I am excited to read more of your animal stories - they are very informative!
